| “We are what we are not yet.” (William Ayers)My name is Agata Trzaska. I joined the Fairview family in August 2007, as a school psychologist. Previously, I worked for the Northern Suburban Special Education District (NSSED) in Highland Park and District 62 in Des Plaines. The opportunity to touch the lives of your children and be their advocate is both a professional and personal call. I believe that all children need and deserve genuine and unconditional attention; I remind myself over and over that it often takes just one person, committed to a child, to see him/her flourish academically and socially.
The role of school psychologist at Fairview allows me to be closely involved in school-wide, as well as individual assessments of student achievement. I have invested myself in the problem solving model - a collaborative approach to assessing your children’s needs, and one that considers all factors impacting learning before making decisions and implementing research-based interventions. Another critical element of this approach to decision making, is the heavy reliance on input from parents; they are important team members. By utilizing academic and behavior data through monitoring student progress, we are able to develop achievable goals for your children. Prevention and early intervention are at the core of our efforts.
Please know that along with my Fairview colleagues, I work hard to help your children find and realize their potential - even if they face academic or social-emotional challenges. I am always available for answering questions, concerns, or discussing ideas that benefit your child.
I look forward to making new friends in the Fairview community!
