Interview with Miss Stepen

Q: Where were you born?
A: I was born at Skokie Valley Hospital (now Rush North Shore) in Skokie, Illinois.
Q: Where do you live?
A: I live in Chicago, in an area called Old Town. It’s near Lincoln Park Zoo!
Q: What is your favorite food?
A: That’s a hard question to answer because I love to eat! ☺ If I had to choose, I would say pizza or sushi.
Q: What is your favorite color?
A: I love the colors pink and black!
Q: Have you ever taught at another school?
A: Yes! I taught second grade in Chicago and fifth grade in Skokie, before coming to Fairview.
Q: What are some of your favorite movies?
A: I have many favorite movies, so I’ll name just a few…
The Wizard of Oz, The Notebook, Mr. Holland’s Opus, Beauty and the Beast
Q: Where is your favorite place to go?
A: My favorite place to visit is the mall! I also really enjoy going to see plays. I loved seeing Wicked, and I recently saw Jersey Boys and loved that production, too!!!
Q: What is your favorite sport?
A: My favorite sports are bike riding and ice skating (I wish I could find more time to do both!)
Q: Where is your favorite place to take a vacation?
A: I enjoy going to Mexico, Los Angeles, and Utah!
Q: Do you have any siblings?
A: Yes! I have two awesome, older brothers!
Q: What is your favorite hobby?
A: Besides going shopping, I love to read books and magazines, and I enjoy most arts and crafts.
Q: What do you like to do during your free time?
A: I like to see movies with friends, read books, surf the internet, and when I’m feeling motivated, I enjoy a good work out!
Q: What is your favorite restaurant?
A: My favorite restaurants are in the city, and they are Hugo’s/Gibsons and Mirai Sushi. YUM!
Q: Do you have any pets?
A: Sadly, I do not own any pets. When I was younger, my family owned two dogs, Amber and Chief. I miss them a lot! ☹ I hope to own a dog again some day soon.
Q: What is your favorite kind of weather?
A: Hot and sunny weather is my favorite kind!
Q: When is your birthday?
A: My birthday is December 10th.
Q: What is your favorite subject to teach?
A: I really enjoy teaching Language Arts and Social Studies the most!
Q: What is your favorite U.S. state?
A: My favorite U.S. state is California.
Q: What is your favorite kind of ice cream?
A: Ben and Jerry’s Coffee, Coffee, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz is my very favorite ice cream flavor!
Q: How many years have you been teaching at Fairview?
A: This is my seventh year teaching at Fairview. I taught first grade here for four years, and I’ve been teaching fourth grade here for three years now. I have met so many nice people at Fairview, and I am very happy teaching here!
